PAC HEIGHTS

By Nicole Honchariw

Where: Pizzeria Delfina  (Pacific Heights)
When: Weeknights (easier to grab a table), on brisker evenings (see why below).
You have to: Grab an outdoor table, round out the meal with a bottle of their Barbera D’Asti, stick with the favorites (namely, burrata).
Cash factor: Moderate.

First and foremost, let’s all say our thanks that burrata proved to be more than a quick flash in the pan (pun intended) and remains one of the easiest options when it comes to a great dinner. For the date you’re just getting to know, stick with what you can trust, and head to Pizzeria Delfina on California Street (Pacific Heights). Unlike other San Francisco restaurants, this staple of the food scene isn’t afraid to provide outdoor seating and heaters on chilly evenings, and that’s exactly what you’re going to capitalize on. Grab one of the outdoor tables to escape the noisier interior, and indulge in some people watching as you dive further into the getting to know each other routine. You already know the main must-have dish, but branch out and try one of their creative (yet wonderfully light) pizzas. Assuming either one of you can stomach any more food after all that delicious, cream-filled cheese, make the quick walk a few doors down to Smitten Ice Cream for a fresh scoop (we recommend the cookie dough, which includes salty bites of pretzel to complement the rich sweetness.)
