Nicholas Cage approves this date

ALCATRAZ

By Nicole Honchariw

What: Alcatraz Night Tour (Fisherman’s Wharf)
Where: The Rock.
When: Great Thursday night alternative to early weekend drinking (be sure to book in advance!).You’ll need to: Dress warm (and tell your date to do the same), grab an Irish coffee beforehand, make sure you don’t scream like a girl if (when) you get scared.
Cash factor: Moderate.

Yes. This is a dead serious suggestion, and if you take it, you are guaranteed to have one of the best and most memorable first date experiences ever. Confirm with your date that her schedule allows a strict meeting time (the last night tour leaves at 6:30 p.m. sharp,) and have her meet you at The Buena Vista Cafe for a decaf Irish coffee. You’ll have plenty of time for banter and chit chat on the cruise over, but once the tour beings, you’ll have the luxury of someone else filling in the conversation gaps. Enjoy reverting to childhood as the creepiness of the historical site affects you both; it’s ultimately the same tactic as taking the girl you’re into to a scary movie, except the movie is real. If all the talk of long-lost prisoners and ghosts leaves you both feeling jumpy, hop a quick ride to Ghirardelli Square, where a chocolate sundae at Emperor Norton’s will cheer you back up will cheer you back up.
