Row, row, row your…you get it

GOLDEN GATE PARK

By Nicole Honchariw

Where: Stow Lake (Golden Gate Park).
When: Perfect for a mid/late afternoon or pre-dinner cruise.
You’ll need to: Pack some light provisions, make sure your date isn’t aquaphobic, be ok with at least one or two booze-free hours (boating safety rules).
Cash factor: Light.

It’s a beautiful day in San Francisco; a treasured occurrence, and one you need to capitalize on. The adventurous and outdoorsy date you asked out pledged an entire afternoon to you, and you? You’ve got this in the bank. Pack some sparkling water, fresh fruit, and cheese into your bag (sorry gents, alcohol is strictly prohibited for this part,) and head to Golden Gate Park. Skip the expected lawn lounging or museum tour and head to Stow Lake, where in an amazingly Ryan Gosling move, you’ll rent a boat. You’re not only going to rent this boat, but you’re going to guide it away from the crowds and into the middle of this gorgeous place. Take in the calm water and wildlife, and see just how willing your date is to rock the boat with some serious getting to know each other conversation. If things are moving swimmingly, mozie to the Haight afterwards for tapas and some well-deserved sangria at Cha Cha Cha. What better way to top off some time on the water than with a bit of Santeria?
