Heading to Santana Row for a spontaneous date is a classic and a surefire way to never get bored. The choices here are endless, so we’ll start with a couple of our favorite spots that are particularly great for the early stages in dating.  Cielo Rooftop Wine Bar is an awesome place to kickoff your day/night. It is quaint and quiet and a perfect place to get to know your date.  (Be sure to get there early to secure a seat). On chilly nights, there is a built in fireplace for you both  to keep warm. Also, bonus points for Cielo, as there is a small bar up top so your server doesn’t have to go up and down stairs to get your drinks, so wine and beer is quick to get to your seat. They do close at 9:30 p.m. so make sure you look like  you really thought  this date out by getting there on time. If it’s warm, order a couple glasses of buttery chard, otherwise a simple Pinot Noir will suffice.  Next, take a stroll through the village and window shop at cute boutiques. For a great conversation starter and guaranteed chuckle, peruse through the Tommy Bahama store and show your date what shorts or shirts you would or wouldn’t dare wear.
